She Who Sleeps Forever in Darkness.
The thing known as Lilitu was once a mighty spirit of the night made flesh, a Wyld being that represented its dark and feminine aspects, as well as its sudden, crushing oblivion for those who trod the unlit paths carelessly. Lilitu was the thing mothers taught their children to fear and respect beyond the safety of the evening’s hearth; not just the night, itself, but the night as a symbol of its own voracity and fearsomeness.
The Wyld needed Lilitu to be its champion, knowing that nothing living could match the solar might of Atlantis with enough darkness and magical power to halt the incessant march of the Weaver. So it gave her a part of itself, in the same way a Wyld-spirit fuses with material to become a Gorgon. But the scale of power, here, was immeasurably greater and Lilitu became a being like a god in this world. And like any Wyld-spirit, its ways and mind were unfathomable, moreso now with the pure chaos of the Wyld poured directly into Lilitu’s mind.
